The Gen Z Magician That’s Captivating Orlando Audiences: Noah Fay
Meet Noah Fay, a rising star in the world of magic. Based in Orlando, Noah has been captivating audiences with his mesmerizing performances and his passion for card magic. In this interview, Noah shares his journey into the world of magic and how he’s making a name for himself in the industry.
Noah’s interest in magic began in fifth grade when a friend showed him a rope trick and a card-to-plastic bag trick. “I then spent hours on YouTube learning,” he says. The first “move” he learned was a flourish by magician Lennart Green, an advanced sleight-of-hand technique that he admits was difficult for a beginner. But he persevered, and as he continued to learn and practice, every trick after that seemed easy to him.
Two magicians who were instrumental in Noah’s early years of learning magic were Eric Yuhasz and Kostya Kimlat. Eric Yuhasz was Noah’s teacher in middle school and led the school’s magic club, so Eric became an early magic teacher and influence for him. Eric is now also a member of the See Magic Live team. As for Kostya Kimlat, he is the CEO of See Magic Live and the team’s magician-leader. Noah says that he learned stage presence, structuring routines, audience management and so much more from both of them.
Noah’s time on the See Magic Live team dates back to 2016. “My dad reached out to Kostya on LinkedIn and asked him if we could meet,” he says. Kostya was impressed with the teenage magician and began inviting him to join the team at their charity appearances. Noah quickly proved himself as a professional, talented performer and soon was appearing at all kinds of business and social events.
Noah’s favorite kind of magic to perform is card magic, which he says he connected with the best. “It helps me connect to the audience better,” he explains. Since joining the team, Noah has had numerous live performance opportunities which have significantly improved his magic.
Noah’s professional career in the magic world has been nothing short of amazing. “I can’t believe I get paid to do something I would do for free,” he says. But he wishes more people knew the psychology and practice it takes to be a solid magician.
For Noah, the preparation leading up to a magic performance is what excites him the most. One of his most recent proudest moments as a magician was performing on stage for 300 people, something he never thought he would be able to do, and is now excited to do more.
He’s taking the engagement and interactions he has practiced on a close-up level and bringing that same engagement and warmth to the stage for larger audiences. His performances are focused on the Orlando area where he lives, but he’s now starting to travel more and perform for bigger groups. His star is truly rising.
The biggest challenge Noah has faced as a magician is keeping magic a daily practice. “It used to come easy, but as I have become an adult, I’ve realized that practicing magic has to be scheduled,” he says.
Noah believes that his magic has a unique feeling that sets it apart from other magicians. “People feel a sense of comfort, amusement, and wonder when they are with me and I’m performing,” he says.
For aspiring magicians, Noah’s advice is simple: “Practice, practice, practice. Make the time you practice something enjoyable so you will do it.” With his passion for magic and dedication to practice, it’s no wonder Noah Fay is making waves in the world of magic.
