An Early Fascination with Magic
Orlando magician Daniel Giandoni has always had a fascination with the art of magic. “When I was in high school, I liked a girl in my class, and I thought that if I was a magician, I could guess her phone number,” Daniel recalls. “Evidently nothing happened, but today I have an act in my show that I guess a phone number of someone in the audience, in honor of that story.”
The first magic trick Daniel remembers learning was the classic card-guessing trick using ashes spread on his arm. “I had an arm full of ashes for many months,” he says, “but it sparked a love for magic that has continued to grow.”
Two key figures who were instrumental in Daniel’s early years of learning magic were Ernesto Melero and Luis Otero, two influential magicians in South America. “Thanks to their guidance and mentorship, I won several international magic competitions and gained valuable insights into both the art and the business of magic,” says Daniel.
When it comes to performing magic, Daniel particularly enjoys close-up card magic and parlor magic for adults. “These types of magic put me ‘in the zone’ and are also well received by audiences,” he says.
As a native Spanish speaker and fluent English speaker who has lived in both Colombia and Venezuela, Daniel brings a unique perspective and cultural background to his performances.

The two first met at a magic convention in Peru in 2009, where they instantly hit it off. They reconnected a couple of years later at a magic convention in Argentina and have been in touch ever since. When Daniel moved to Florida in 2022, he was thrilled to be adopted into the See Magic Live team.
Since joining the team, Daniel has grown significantly as a magician. He cites the high level of talent among his fellow team members as a major motivating factor. “The level of each artist is so high; it made me overcome my own limits and my own barriers,” he says. In fact, he even rushed the process of transitioning his shows from Spanish to English, which he had originally planned to do in 2023 so that he could perform with the See Magic Live team.

Daniel has had a successful career in the magic world for over 17 years. He has had the opportunity to perform on big stages in South America for both the public and major corporations, and has even won awards and served as a consultant for successful movies and Netflix shows in his home country.

The Art of Magic: Daniel Giandoni’s Tips for Aspiring Magicians
One thing that Daniel wishes more people knew about being a magician is that it takes a lot of hard work and dedication to become a professional. “To be a professional, the time, work, study, and rehearsal requires an effort quite similar to a university degree,” he says. In addition, he notes that magicians often spend years perfecting techniques that the audience will never see. “It’s funny, often the magician whose tricks you cannot figure out is the one who spent the most time practicing,” he adds.
For Daniel, the most exciting part of preparing for a magic performance is finally being able to share the fruits of his labor with the audience. He takes great pride in his work as a magician and has had many proud moments over the course of his career.
One of the moments that stands out for Daniel is receiving a green card due to his “extraordinary abilities” as a magician. He also met his wife at one of his magic shows, making it a truly special and memorable experience.
When it comes to coming up with new magic tricks and routines, Daniel uses a creativity methodology called SCAMPER to help him ground his ideas, rule out impossibilities, and focus on what deserves his attention. He has found this method to be extremely helpful in his work, and even incorporates it into his lectures and his book, “Beyond The Trick.”
Abracadabra! Daniel’s Most Memorable Moments as a Magician
As a magician, Daniel has certainly had his share of bloopers and mishaps over the years. One particularly memorable moment occurred when a man tried to surprise his girlfriend by proposing to her during one of Daniel’s shows. The only problem was that the man had entered the wrong theater and the girlfriend was in another play entirely. “The guy had the microphone and said, ‘Is this not Magic Mike’s play?’ It was the best joke of the night,” Daniel recalls. “The audience thought it was on purpose, but no... I never knew if the guy ever married her.”
For Daniel, one of the biggest challenges he has faced as a magician has been taking his shows to a new language, culture, timing, and rhythm. However, he is embracing this challenge and enjoying every second of it. It takes a lot of hard work and dedication to succeed as a magician, and Daniel is more than up to the task.
As a magician, Daniel believes that what sets his magic apart from that of other magicians is his fresh, modern style and his use of humor in his shows. He is able to break through the cultural barriers that audiences may have about magicians and create a truly memorable experience.
